Welcome back! If you have already started the Zarina Diagonal Crochet Scarf pattern, I hope you’re enjoying this interesting pattern so far. If you landed here first, Welcome! You’ll want to check out the Zarina Corner to Corner Scarf Part 1 for more details and first portion of the pattern.

It is a light and airy lace crochet pattern worked diagonally to create a crochet scarf with one yarn cake. In Part 1 we started in one corner with just a few stitches to create a triangle by increasing both edges of the work. In Part 2, we will focus on the length of our scarf increasing one edge but decreasing the other.

If you want to share your wips and finished crochet scarf on social media, please, use hashtag #mycrochetory. I love to see your finished project!

Materials & Tools:

  1. Yarn SCHEEPJES Woolly Whirl 215g = 1000m, 70% Cotton and 30% Wool, 1 cake. For the shawl sample I used (476) Custard Cream Centre colorway.

You might need one extra cake of Whirlette yarn in matching color if your gauge is a little bit off.

  • Hook  size 3.5mm. Adjust  hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
  • Tapestry needle (to weave and hide yarn ends).
  • Scissors.

Level:

Intermediate

Size after blocking:

Approx. 40cm (15.75”) wide x 194cm (76.25”) long.

Gauge after blocking:

After Row 10 the triangle is approx. 10cm/4” high.

Gauge is not crucial for this project. However, changes might result in a different yardage requirements and the finished size.
