Lace crochet

Spring is here and summer is just around the corner so it’s time to enjoy some lightweight projects!

Lacy crochet patterns are so much fun to work with and they can stimulate your brain in many ways!

Sarin Lace Shawl is a great project for those of you looking to expand your crochet skills. Not quite mindless project, but simple enough that it becomes rhythmic.

Learning to crochet lace might takes some time, patience and practice but it’s a skill that it’s worth mastering.

Bottom-up lace pattern

Sarin Lace Shawl is a lovely triangle shawl that begins from a bottom tip with increases placed along the edges.

The pattern features quite simple and repetitive lacy openwork design. If you like feminine styles with a bit of elegance I think that you will be really happy with the end result.

Because the shawl is worked bottom-up, its length is easily adjusted and you can make it larger/smaller by working more/less pattern repeats.

This easy construction creates a wonderfully wearable shawl that you can either wrap around your neck or just wear over the shoulders.

The result is an incredibly stunning triangle-shaped shawl and it’s easier than it looks.

Perfect yarn for a lace design

For my Sarin Lace Shawl I chose to use DROPS Lace yarn. This yarn is a luxpremium blend of alpaca and mulberry silk. An incredibly soft and luxurious combo.

Both fibres are really light, so you will be really nice and comfortable wearing them!

This pattern calls for 2 skeins of DROPS Lace (50g each skein) but depending on the gauge and personal crochet style more yarn can be required to complete the shawl.

While dimensions and yardage are provided for lace weight yarn, Sarin Lace Shawl could effectively be worked in fingering weight as well.

I highly recommend using yarn that blocks and drapes really well. To be fully satisfied with the final result you have to block your shawl properly.

Choose you favoutive yarn colour and start today!

This shawl is so beautiful; perfect to wear for a spring wedding. Thank you so much for sharing your pattern. I need new things to do since being self-isolated. I have knit and crocheted just about every pattern I own and that’s saying a lot, but this shawl is so unique.
